    Behavioral Risk Factor Survey

  • BRFS, the Mahoning County Behavioral Risk Factor Survey, is a telephone survey of a representative sample of over 400 Mahoning County adults that is conducted periodically by the County Board of Health.

    Preventive measures take three forms:

  • Primary: care provided to individuals to prevent the onset of a targeted condition.
  • Secondary: tests or standardized examination procedures used to identify patients requiring special intervention.
  • Tertiary: part of the treatment and management of persons with clinical illnesses.
